Before you call
Smell gas? Get out and call 911.
Leave the building, then call 911 and your gas utility. Don’t operate switches or try to restart the boiler. Call us once everyone is safe.
Low water cutoff tripped? Leave the burner off.
Don’t add feedwater to a hot boiler that ran low, and don’t keep resetting the cutoff. Call (323) 987-1816 before anyone tries to restart it.
QUICK ANSWER
McKenna Boiler Works, Inc. provides 24/7 emergency boiler service across California. A live person answers (323) 987-1816 around the clock, and an on-call technician gets to the site as soon as possible. McKenna handles boilers down, low water cutoff trips, tube leaks, and burner and flame failures on McKenna boilers and other brands. Code repairs are made under McKenna’s National Board R certificate. When a boiler can’t go back in service, McKenna has rental boilers and keeps parts at its Oceanside shop. Call (323) 987-1816 or email info@mckennaboiler.com.
What we respond to
Common emergency calls.
Boiler down
The boiler won’t fire, won’t hold pressure, or keeps locking out. We work through the burner, controls, feedwater, and fuel train until we find the cause.
Low water cutoff trips
A low water trip means the boiler protected itself. We find out why, check the cutoff and feedwater system, and inspect for heat damage before it goes back on line.
Tube leaks
We find the leak and replace the tube. In most cases, replacing rolled and beaded tubes is not an R stamp repair, but check with your Authorized Inspector. Welded tube work, such as seal-welded tubes or tubesheet repairs, is done under McKenna’s National Board R certificate.
Burner and flame failure
Flame failures, ignition problems, and lockouts. We check the scanner, ignition, gas train, and combustion settings, and tune the burner before we leave.
Not on this list? Call (323) 987-1816 and tell us what the boiler is doing.
When it can’t be fixed today
Rental boilers and parts on the shelf.
Some repairs take longer than a shutdown allows. McKenna has rental boilers to keep steam or heat on while your boiler is repaired, retubed, or replaced.
Common replacement parts are on the shelf at our Oceanside shop, including Honeywell 7800 Series, Fireye, and Siemens LMV flame safeguard parts, flame scanners, McDonnell & Miller controls, Siemens gas valves, gauge glass, and gaskets. Call to confirm the exact part number.
