QUICK ANSWER
McKenna Boiler Works, Inc. builds ASME Section VIII pressure vessels in its code shop in Oceanside, California, and stamps them under its ASME U certificate. McKenna builds steam accumulators, storage tanks, and custom vessels in carbon steel or stainless steel. There are no standard sizes: a McKenna engineer designs each vessel with the customer to fit the application, specifications, and space. What we build
Steam accumulators, storage tanks, and custom vessels.
Built in our ASME code shop, and U-stamped when the design pressure calls for Section VIII. Tell us the application and a McKenna engineer will work out the vessel with you.
Steam accumulators
- Store energy as hot pressurized water and release steam when demand spikes.
- Let your boilers fire steady through load swings instead of chasing peaks.
- Sized from your steam load profile and pressure.
Storage tanks
- Storage tanks for condensate, feedwater, or process fluids.
- ASME U-stamped when the design pressure calls for Section VIII.
- Sized to your plant’s storage needs, with connections laid out to match your piping.
Custom vessels
- Built to your drawing, your engineer’s specification, or a McKenna design.
- Examples: air receivers, flash tanks, expansion tanks, process vessels.
- Sized and laid out to fit the space you have.
Need a heat exchanger, condensate receiver, or steam traps? We supply and install those too.
Materials
Carbon steel or stainless steel.
Both are built to ASME Section VIII and U-stamped when the design pressure calls for it. A McKenna engineer will recommend the material for your service, or build to the material your specification calls for.
